Fernando Grajales (1924 – 2004) made climbing his life. In the fifties he earned a place in the history of mountaineering, leading expeditions in the Andes, the Himalayas and the great ranges of the world. Fernando shared his valuable experience in the family company. We are proud to honor that legacy, that made Grajales Expeditions one of the most reliable mountain logistics companies in the world.

Private Ground Transportation

Prices for private transportation are all one way. Pick-up time is scheduled by the passenger. Our fleet includes Mercedes Benz and Hyundai models.

Helicopter Charter

In case of evacuation, excessive fatigue, accident or any other reason, we offer private helicopter flights from the base camps to Horcones. The flights depend on weather conditions and load weight (100-300 kg).

Logistics

Our spacious facilities are conveniently located at Los Penitentes ski resort, a few meters away from the lodge. Our staff will assist you in the packing process.

Porters

We utilize our own safe and reliable team of porters to carry gear up and down the mountain. Most of our porters are beginning their career as guides and have summited Aconcagua several times.

High Tech Communications

Reach your loved ones at home while you have tea in our dining tent! At Base Camp, we provide Ipads with Internet connection and satellite phones for crystal-clear communication. Our radio network allows us communications not only with all the camps, but also with our base camp in Los Penitentes, the Park Rangers and the Rescue Patrol. We track our expeditions from the trailhead to the summit, thus optimizing safety and logistics. We use renewable, environmentally-friendly power from solar panels and wind-powered generators.

“We had an incredible trip on Aconcagua, and we absolutely couldn’t have done it without the exceptional service provided by Grajales. Everybody we interacted with, from start to finish, was professional, friendly, and went out of their way to make our trip safe and successful. We got to Mendoza feeling nervous and overwhelmed, and we left three weeks later feeling like part of a family. We’ll be back!”
