Day 1
Mendoza – Los Penitentes (3 hs drive)
Pick up at the airport if needed (optional). The guide will check your gear and assist you with the park’s trekking permit procedures. Transfer in private vehicles from Mendoza to Los Penitentes (2.580 m/8,465 ft), where the group will spend the night in a lodge. In this small mountain village we have our warehouse, where you can get an insider’s view of the logistics involved in an expedition up Aconcagua.

Day 2
Los Penitentes – Confluencia Camp (3 to 4 h hike)
After a short 15 minute drive to the trailhead, we complete the park check-in and head towards Confluencia camp (3.390 m / 11,300 ft). The trail is well marked and the slopes are gentle. We choose a good spot to have lunch on the trail. After a welcome reception at Confluencia, we get to relax and talk with mountaineers from all over the world. Dinner in the dining tent and night in tents.

Day 3
Confluencia – South Face viewpoint – Confluencia (6 to 7 h hike)
After breakfast we leave with light backpacks and hike up the Lower Horcones glacier. As we gain altitude we get to see Aconcagua’s South Face, Mt. Almacenes, Mt. Mirador and other surrounding peaks. We reach a viewpoint at 4,050m / 13,290 ft, where we have lunch next to the glacier and spend some time admiring the scenery. Then we retrace our steps to Confluencia camp. Big dinner to recover our energy.

Day 4
Confluencia – Mendoza (2 to 3 hs hike. 3 hs transfer.)
After breakfast we say farewell to the lead guide and the summit-bound group and head back to the trailhead (2 to 3 hours) accompained by a guide. We then transfer to Mendoza (3 hours), where we arrive at about 4-5 PM. End of the program.
